This achievement proves that UII can maintain its commitment as the best private university in Yogyakarta. It was revealed by UII Rector, Prof. Dr. Edy Suandi Hamid, M.Ec while delivering his speech on press conference held on Monday (1/9) at Bumbu Pawon Restaurant, Demangan Baru No. 19, Yogyakarta. Also attending the event were UII Vice Rector I, Nandang Sutrisna, SH., M.Hum., LL.M., P.hD., and UII Vice Rector III, Ir. Bachnas, M.Sc. Rector also added that the predicate given by 4ICU and others international institution rating system was an attempt to improve university quality. “By achieving predicate as the best private university in Yogyakarta, it does not mean that UII only focus on the university rankings. However, it is expected that this predicate will improve UII quality which meets international standard to submit as World Class University.” Rector emphasized.
4ICU is an online directory that produces an online ranking of the world's universities based on the popularity of their websites and covers 11.000 institutions in 200 countries. The rankings system is based on an algorithm including three independent web metrics extracted from three different search engines, Google Page Rank, Majestic and Alexa Traffic Rank. According to released version of 4ICU Worlds University Rankings, UII was awarded as the best private university in Yogyakarta (Kopertis V) as well as the 2nd best private university in Indonesia. According to survey ‘2012 University Web Ranking’, UII rank 13th for Indonesia level. UII ranking improved significantly, if compared to UII in previous period ranked 18th position
