Character of Nations Based on Individual Character The strong character of a nation should be initiated from family, educational institution, and society. “The strong individual character is the main foundation in determining national defense.” As told by The Commander of Army Strategic Reverse Command, Lieutenant General A.Y Nasution. According to him, Home is an appropriate place to improve someone’s character/personality. Then, it is necessary to build personal character through education and learning process as well as social interaction. “Children’s character development certainly can be developed effectively through an interplay of family since children spend the majority of their time with family unless they are in school” A.Y Nasution emphasized. In building nation character, sacrifice, discipline, and responsibility are really needed. A mother has the most important role in bringing up a child and moulding the character. “Hence, character education is the shared responsibility of the individual, home, government, school, community, and many others.” A.Y Nasution stated. |
