Pharmacy Profession Program, Faculty of Nature Sciences and Mathematics, Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) held studium generale participated by pharmacist freshmen students on Saturday (02/25). The stadium general, titled “Membangun Farmaneurship Untuk Mendukung Peningkatan Martabat dan Kemandirian Bangsa dalam Persaingan Global” (“Building Pharmaceutical Entrepreneurship for Supporting the Improvement of Nation’s dignity and Independence in Global competition”) located at Prof. Sardjito building, UII main campus, Yogyakarta.

Head of Pharmacy Profession Program, Saepudin, M.Si, Apt stated there were 117 freshmen including 111 students taking Pharmacy Profession Regular Program and 6 students pursuing double Pharmacy Profession degree program. According to him, the students participating in this stadium general have passed tight selection process. Thus, he expected to the students have to possess basic knowledge and mental toughness to study at Pharmacy Profession Program.

This event featured President Director of Deltomed Laboratories, Drs. Nyoto Wardoyo, Apt as the speaker. He stated that his attendance as the keynote speaker in this event was an implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) from his company, Deltomed Laboratories. Deltomed Laboratories has been the leading producer of high quality traditional herbal medicines such as Antangin JRG, Antalinu, OB Herbal, and many others.

He also explained that Deltomed Laboratories began to expand its business during economic crisis in Indonesia in the late 1997. However, his company did not experienced strong negative effects due to monetary crisis since this company maximizes the richness of Indonesian natural resource as raw ingredient to produce herbal medicine.

This event was also attended by Pharmacy Profession Program alumnae including Yuni Darty, S.Si, Apt., who works at Indonesian Navy Hospital, Surabaya and Etik Riyani, S.Si, Apt who works at BNI Life Insurance. “I do hope both of these women inspire all of the audiences to pursue their best career. Pharmacy can work in a variety of locations.”  He added.
