Students Executive Board, Islamic University of Indonesia, will hold art festival “EKSPERIA” (Ekspresi  Kreasi Mahasiswa dan Difabel) which aims to promote an understanding of people with disabilities. Covering many arts activities, such as Festival of Documentary Film and Commercial Public Services, Handicraft Exhibition, Parade Kisah Nusantara Carnival, and Music Concert, the event, titled “Menembus Batas dengan Keterbatasan”.  

Documentary Film Festival upholding a theme “Catatan Hidupku (My Life Diary)” invites university students in Indonesia to take part in this competition. The documentary film have to bring to the fore some of the stories about people with disability which inspires everyone. While, the theme of the commercial public services contest is “Aku=Kamu (Me=You)”. The objective of this contest is to raise awareness in society about persons with disability and social equality. Registration for the competition opened on 27 February – 4 March 2012.

Besides, Parade Kisah Nusantara Carnival inviting Disabled People’s Association at Yogyakarta will be take place on March 31, 2012 at Malioboro Street and feature Indonesian folk tale such as Timun Emas, Malin Kundang, and many others. In addition, an exhibition of handicrafts, art work produced by people with disabilities will be held on April 1^st. The profit collected will be given to Disabled People’s Association.

Furthermore, the music concert is the climax of “EKSPERIA” which will be held on April 1^st at Concert Hall Taman Budaya Yogyakarta. Also, Award winners of Festival of Documentary Film and Commercial Public Services, Parade Kisah Nusantara Carnival will be recognized during the music concert.
