UII Say ’No’ to Plagiarism E-mail

Recently, media reported news on plagiarism in scientific paper by university’s lecturers who had plagiarized the academic work that they submitted as part of the certification process. Plagiarism is academic crime. Thus, the Directorate General of Higher Education would impose strict punishment including a dismissal on any professors who were proven guilty of plagiarism.

Addressing this shocking issues, UII Vice Rector I, Nandang Sutrisno, SH, MH, LLM. PhD, stated that Islamic University of Indonesia is absolutely agree with the DIKTI’s policy regarding penalty for plagiarism. Still according to him, UII kept track of plagiarism practice on academic work which was submitted as part of the certification process by any lecturers or any professor at UII.  

“No excuse for plagiarism. Before submitting the scientific paper to DIKTI, the internal team of UII/ reviewer should responsible to ensure that the academic work is original. If there are any indications of plagiarism, the internal team of UII will investigate further. ” Nandang stressed out.

Furthermore, Nandang Sutrisno, SH, MH, LLM. Ph.D., who responsible for the academic affairs of Islamic University of Indonesia, stated that UII will take several actions in investigating the indications of plagiarism in research paper. The punishment of plagiarism will depend on how serious the act of plagiarism.

“UII itself has any procedures in preventing and tracking the plagiarism.” He emphasized.
