LEM FE UII Hosts National Seminar on Entrepreneurship 2012 E-mail

ImageStudent Executive Board, Faculty of Economics (LEM FE), along with Entrepreneur Community, Islamic University of Indonesia, on Tuesday (3/6) organized National Seminar on Entrepreneurship. Located at ‘KHA Kahar Mudzakkir’ Auditorium, UII main campus, this seminar was attended by many students as well as the member of students club ‘Business Plan’ from UNDIP, UNAIR, UNES and others.

This seminar which officially opened by Head of Management Department, FE UII, Dr. Dwipraptono Agus Harjito, M.Si., featured several entrepreneur experts including the youngest motivator in Asia, Bong Chandra and Hendy Setiono young entrepreneur and the owner of PT. Baba Rafi Indonesia.

With a topic of ‘Menyongsong Kemandirian Bangsa Dalam Menghadapi Tantangan Globalisasi 2012’, (Meeting the Nation’s Independence in Encountering 2012 Globalization Challenge), Dr. Dwipraptono Agus Harjito, M.Si, explained that there are three major globalization challenges including technology, social, and structural that will be encountered by entrepreneur in the future. “Thus, this seminar was expected to deliver understanding to encounter this challenge.” He stated

Meanwhile, the committee chairman, Yuan Haqiqi stated that this seminar not only focuses to encourage entrepreneur spirit among the students but also create young entrepreneur in Indonesia. Also added by President of Student Executive Board, Faculty of Economics, Miko Yuansyah that this seminar was an attempt from students organization to take part in developing Entrepreneurship for better Indonesia

Hendy Setiono: ‘Street Fighter‘Entrepreneur

In the first session of this seminar which was moderated by Fitriati Akmila, SE, M.Com. (Lecturer at Faculty of Economy), The founding father of  PT. Baba Rafi, Hendy Setiono underlined four categories of companies. The first is “The Clone Company” that this type of company has possessed good managerial team, financial source, and brand market. Take for example, PT. Baba Rafi as the holding company is the owner of PT Panen Raya, Piramida Zahira, Warung Ayam Mas Pono.

“The Professor” is one type of company which owned by people who have the business education background. “Mama`s Boy” is a kind of company which established by the businessmen who have strong relationship with stake-holder/ authorities. The last category is the company which has no such criteria. “Just, a tiny hope and hard work of young entrepreneur becomes the fundament in establishing own business.” He added. According to him, “Coordinate, Communicate, Cooperate, with Commitment” are the important keys to succes. 

Bong Chandra: “3 Business Trends in the New Future”

ImageBong Chandra as the second speaker, in this occasion, highlighted three trends Business trends in the future. The first is derivative product business offering online advertising space, software, and also service business including photography studio, beauty shop, and many others.

The business trends which will be developed in the future is ‘copycat product’. According to him, it was different with product plagiarism. In this case, the companies imitate the manufacturing process of the products. The last business trend is ‘product innovation’. Take ‘clothes softener ‘for example which is now be turned into an innovative product.

Hopefully, These 3 business overviews promote the audiences to organize their business plan. “Be ready to face your future’! He stressed out.
