Eight Universities Discuss a Research of Judge’s Verdict E-mail

ImageFaculty of Law, Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII FH) hosted a presentation on the implementation of Research Reports of Judges’s Verdict in the year of 2012. This event involved eight universities including UNTAN (Pontianak), UNSOED (Purwokerto), Universitas 45 Makasar, UMM (Malang), Udayana (Denpasar), UNILA (Lampung), UNLAM (Banjarmasin) and Universitas Islam Indonesia, on April 4-5, 2012 at  UII campus, Jl. 158 Tamansiswa Yogyakarta. 

Dean of Faculty of Law UII, Dr. Rusli Muhammad, SH, MH, in his opening speech, expressed his gratitude for Judicial Commission of Indonesia for giving the opportunity to Faculty of Law UII to host  this agenda-Presentation of Research Reports of Judge’s Verdict in the year of 2012.

Meanwhile, Vice Chairman of Judicial Commission, H.Imam Anshori Saleh, SH MHum, in this occasion mentioned that this conducted research had two functions, namely academic and tactical functions. Academic functions meant that this research is as an input to arrange the curricula for educating the candidate of Supreme Court Judges. Besides, the tactical function was as an assessment materials of the 45 selected candidates of Supreme Court Judges.

Furthermore, Imam Anshori Saleh, SH MHum, mentioned that this research conducted by the eight universities was expected to answer five objectives of the research. Through this research, the judge's verdict was expected implementing criminal law and procedure, applying systematic methodology and logical arrangement, considering and exploring the values ​​prevailing in society, and also indicating the professionalism of judges in resolving the cases.

"It is expected that the ruling issued by Supreme Court Judge containig these five indicators. Besides, this research conducted by the eight universities, were also assessed in terms of methodology, analysis of the judge's verdict, conclusion and recommendation, and research instruments.” He explained.
