UII Islamic Studies Graduate Program Re-accreditation

In conjunction to implement the vision and mission of national education, Educational institutions endeavor to meet with such minimal criteria in various aspects. To meet with such minimal criteria, it requires an external audit. For this reason, Islamic Studies Graduate Program, Faculty of Islamic Studies (FIAI) UII conducted external audit. The visitation of re-acreditation Islamic Studies Graduate Program of was conducted by National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), Ministry of Education and Culture on Saturday (21/4) at UII Demangan campus.

Also attending in this occasion were UII Rector, Prof.Dr. Edy Suandi Hamid, M.Ec, Dean of Faculty of Islamic Studies, Dr. Drs. Dadan Muttaqien, SH., M.Hum and his entourage. Prof. Edy said that accreditation process of program studies at university was an attempt of higher education institution to produce their graduates who meet basic requirement of university’s policy and quality.

"Visitation in accordance with program studies accreditation process is a reflection of program studies performance in many ways. It is implemented for producing qualified graduates.” Prof Edy stated.

He also confirmed that this accreditation process signified a legitimation of credible educational institution. Besides, it became important indicator how the educational institutions meet the dynamics of education issues in a comprehensive manner. Therefore, he urged the management of program studies to be more aware that accreditation process is a benchmark measuring the performance of studies program at UII.

Re- accreditation process organized by UII along with BAN-PT was an implementation of Government regulation no. 19 of 2005 regarding National Education Standards (SNP) that urged higher education institution to have accreditation for both instition and studies program before May 16, 2012 universities. If such universities do not comply with this rules yet, Government through Ministry of Education will close non-accredited degree/universities and not issue graduation certificate.
