This statement was uttered by Director of Directorate of Research and Community Services (DPPM) UII Dr.-Ing. Ir. Widodo Brontowiyono, M.Sc. when delivers his opening remark at "Go Entrepreneur" training. The event which involves UII students and alumnae was organized by DPPM UII in collaboration with PT. Pegadaian (Persero), on Thursday (17/5) at UII main campus. Ir. Widodo Brontowiyono said that the objective of this event was to encourage students to create business and new entrepreneurs since today Indonesia is still lack of entrepreneurs. He also added that DPPM UII has been developing entrepreneurship through various community service activities by conducting ‘entrepreneurship field work’, mentoring villagers and village, and developing a Business Incubator. This program aimed at empowering public community. Moreover, DPPM UII would make serious effort to develop entrepreneurship among UII community such as students and alumnae. This program has got positive response from students. "We also conducted a survey of several students during having lecture in class. 50% students said that they want to become entrepreneurs. Besides, the rest of students want to become employees or politicians (40%) and scientists (10%). Another report mentioned that 18% of UII alumnae have chosen the path of the entrepreneur ", as he said at UII library. In line with Ir. Widodo’s statement, Director of CSR PT. Pegadaian Jakarta, Wasis Djuhar revealed that this activity also aimed to motivate students engaging seriously in entrepreneurship and create smart entrepreneur who are able to foster creative business. He expected that this program would be continued. Also, his side would be willing to provide financial capital. "We do hope that PT Pegadaian will provide any help to UII to realize this program" He said. Meanwhile, UII Vice Rector III, Ir. Bachnas, M.Sc, attending to officially open this event asked to 100 participants to become entrepreneurs who always uphold Islamic values and run their business in accordance with Sharia principles. According to him, Prophet Muhammad SAW for long time ago has taught Moslem to become entrepreneur. Thus, we had to imitate Prophet Muhammad’s principles as a guideline in running business. This training featured several famous business experts in Indonesia like Suyatno (General Manager CSR PT. Pegadaian Jakarta), Regional Office XI PT. Pegadaian Semarang, Nilamsari (Young Entrepreneur, Founder and Marketing Director of PT. Baba Rafi Indonesia), Drajad Setiadhie (Director of PT. Adi Initiative Indonesia), Firmansyah Budi Prasetyo (Young Entrepreneur, Founder and Director of Cokro Tela Cake Yogyakarta), Noor Liesnani Pamella ( Director of Pamela Super Market Yogyakarta), Dwi Giyarto (CEO of PT. Multi-Tech Aji Perkasa Yogyakarta), Joko Susilo, SE. M.Si (Founder Syar'i Mart UII) and Arief Rahman Hakim, SE (Owner of Putra Berlian Yogyakarta). |
