The optimal internal quality improvement becomes milestones in the continuity of higher education institution. Among them is the lecturer empowerment to support the learning process aiming at nurturing professional graduates. In maintaining the quality of lecturer, Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) has applied tight requirement for new lecturer and kept evaluating lecturer’s performance as always.

The statement above is one of issues to be discussed at UII Internal Coordination Meeting which was held at Puri Asri Hotel, Magelang, on Tuesday (5/29). This meeting was led by UII Rector, Prof. Dr. Edy Suandi Hamid, MEc, and attended by UII Vice Rector I, Nandang Sutrisno, SH, MH, LLM, PhD, Vice Rector II Dra. Neni Meidawati, MSi. Ak., Vice Rector III, Ir. Bachnas, MSc., Dean and Vice Dean at UII, as well as Director of Organization and Human Resources, Ery Arifudin, SH, MH.

This one day coordination meeting has discussed many issues including the development of cooperation relations campus infrastructure provision.

UII as one of the oldest university in this country tries to become independent university. Actually, UII has established business units. Take for example; Faculty of Islamic Studies FIAI launched Baitul Mal wa Tamwil (BMT) as a sharia business unit. This effort also signifies that UII becomes one of universities that always concern on Islamic economics in Indonesia.
