Located at in front of Dr. Soekiman Wirjosandjojo Building, Universitas Islam Indonesia conducted 67th Indonesia Independence Day Ceremony that was lead by UII Vice Rector for Academic affair, Nandang Sutrisno, SH., MH., LLM., PhD. Though, the 67th Indonesia Independence Day commemorations coincided with the holy fasting month of Ramadhan, UII’s staff including academic staff, administrative staff, security staff still actively participated in this ceremony.

On his opportunity, Vice Rector I, Nandang Sutrisno read a speech from Yogyakarta Governor entitled "With The Spirit of the 17 August 1945 Proclamation, We Work Hard for Our Advancement, We Increase Equitable Development In Term Of Social Justice for All Indonesian.”

The speech emphasized on the history of Indonesia’s proclamation day that was proclaimed 67 years ago by Bung Karno, Bung Hatta and the Founding Fathers of the Republic. They had set the goals for the establishment of an Indonesia which is independent, united, sovereign, just, and prosperous, namely a country that  protects all people of Indonesia and their homeland, and to advance  the public well-being,  to enlighten the nation’s life and to participate in the establishment of a world order based on independence, abiding peace and social justice.
