Visa & Immigration

As an international student planning to study within Indonesia territory you should apply for a visa after receiving a Letter of Acceptance from Universitas Indonesia. Please note that before applying for a visa, u have to get a study permit issued by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia.

International students who must apply for the study permit are those who join a Full-Degree Program, Student Exchange Program, Short Course Program, Training Course, and Indonesian Language Course Program.

For some people, immigration matters can be complicated. The following guideline should help you to go through the process. If you need assistance, our office can recommend agent to process your immigration documents with your own expenses.

We issue sponsor letter for new international students upon enrollment to Universitas Islam Indonesia.  However, you need to request a sponsor letter whenever you have to extend Visa/KITAS or request Exit Re-entry Permit, Exit Permit Only, and other immigration formalities.

The following is the documents you need to submit in order to get a letter of recommendation from Universitas Islam Indonesia.

  1. A letter of recommendation from your faculty.
  2. A copy of your academic transcript.
  3. A copy of your passport.
  4. Request form. (download the request form)
  5. Letter of Guarantee. (download the Letter of Guarantee)

Please note that a letter of recommendation processing takes 3 working days. Therefore, please allow a reasonable time for International Office to process your letter before your immigration matter is due.

International applicants seeking admission to Universitas Islam Indonesia must submit Application Form online and all required documents. Application fee for international admission costs US$ 50. You must upload a copy of payment receipt along with the other supporting documents for application. The application documents must be submitted online before the closing date of application. Decision for admission of eligible international applicants will be based on the submitted documents.

Notes:

  • The application is processed upon receipt of application fee payment
  • The application fee is non-refundable
  • Visa and immigration documents processing fees are exclude from the registration process conducted by UII so that all expenses will become your own responsibility

About OIA UII

In order to strengthen the internationalization UII and actively involve in international activities, UII established the Office of International Affairs (Kantor Urusan Internasional), with the roles as followed: (1) assessing and implementing international cooperation intensively with abroad partner university, (2) providing student services for international students in area of immigration issues, campus orientation, academic advice from their arrival to departure date, (3) assisting lectures and students of UII who are participating collaborative program with abroad partner university, and (4) providing services and advices for foreign lectures and researches who will be affiliate or collaborate with UII.
