Uniqueness or Excellence of the Study Program
The database of DIKTI reveals that the number of registered Master of Chemical Engineering Study Programs currently reaches 19 programs spread across various cities in Indonesia. Of all these Master of Chemical Engineering Study Programs, only five universities in Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) have a Master of Chemical Engineering Study Program.
The Master of Chemical Engineering Study Program, organized by 19 universities in Indonesia, focuses on the fields of energy, environment, and materials, including process development, energy intensification, waste treatment, and material modification. These fields have become the uniqueness of the Chemical Engineering Study Program, not only in Indonesian universities but also in overseas universities. Therefore, the Master of Chemical Engineering Study Program of FTI UII participates in providing a master’s degree education with competencies in these fields.
The Master of Chemical Engineering Study Program of FTI UII aims to operate a master’s degree program with competencies in the fields of Herbal Technology, Energy Production Technology, Control and Process Engineering, Halal Food Technology, Environmental Management Technology, and Material Technology, with HERPaLM as the characteristic and excellence of our Study Program that is not found in 19 other PSMTKs in Indonesia.
Career Opportunities
The graduates of the Master of Chemical Engineering Study Program have career opportunities to apply chemical engineering knowledge in research institutions (LIPI, BATAN, LEMIGAS, etc.), education (lecturer and teacher), industrial sector (cement, medicine, oil and gas, etc.), government institutions (regional government and ministries), and as consultants in chemical engineering or entrepreneurs.
Application Requirements and Procedures
Registration and Selection
The new student admission for the Master of Chemical Engineering Study Program is conducted twice a year, at the beginning of the odd semester (August) and even semester (February).
- The first term ends in February
- The second term ends in August
The admission procedures for prospective students are as follows:
- Log in to the page daftar.uii.ac.id and create a NIU and password.
- Log in to the page admisi.uii.ac.id and complete the registration process.
- Download and fill out the registration form, which can be obtained on the page che.uii.ac.id/magister/admisi
- Pay a registration fee of IDR 300,000 to the account number 1370002283907 (Universitas Islam Indonesia). The registration fee is non-refundable if prospective students decide to withdraw from the selection process.
- Send a scanned copy of a recent S1/D4 diploma/certificate (Chemical Engineering, Chemistry Science, Chemistry Education, Pharmacy, Environmental Engineering, or other study programs related to chemical engineering).
- Submit a scanned copy of a valid English language proficiency certificate (CEPT/TOEFL/IBT/IELTS).
- Send a scanned copy of a valid Academic Potential Test certificate.
- A minimum GPA of 3.00 (4.00 scale) is required, evidenced by a scanned copy of the academic transcript.
- Send a statement of work experience (for employees).
- Send a soft copy of a color photo.
- Submit documents 4 to 10 to the email: [email protected].

The Master of Chemical Engineering Study Program of FTI UII has opened new student admissions for the Distance Education Program/Online Program. This master’s degree program is intended for company employees, teachers, public/private employees, laboratory staff, and anyone who pursues further studies and prepares for a brilliant career in the field of chemistry without having to leave other activities.
