Future Global Leaders Scholarships 2022

Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) is committed to educating students to become future global leaders by providing opportunities for international students to learn along with UII. Every year UII has offered scholarships with the quota:

  • 50 international prospective students to study in a Bachelor or a Diploma program at UII under FGLS Regular Scheme; and
  • 6 international prospective students from Yemen to study in Bachelor and Master Programs under the FGLS Partnership Scheme with Yemeni Embassy in Jakarta.

These scholarships are given to high school graduates who are citizens of countries other than Indonesia and have completed their education in high school or equivalent. The scholarship will cover:

    • Registration fees and tuition fees for a maximum of 4 years during the undergraduate program at UII or 3 years for diploma program;
    • Health insurance*;
    • Monthly housing allowance* (start on the 3rd semester for FGLS regular and 1st semester for FGLS Partnership with Yemeni Embassy);
    • Monthly living allowance* (start on the 3rd semester for FGLS regular and FGLS Partnership with Yemeni Embassy); and
    • Book allowance per semester (start on the 3rd semester for FGLS regular and FGLS Partnership with Yemeni Embassy);

*For FGLS holders stay in Indonesia

There are monitoring and evaluation process to all FGLS holders for regular and partnership scheme with Yemeni Embassy during their study at UII:

  • Obtain a minimum GPA of 2.75 every semester as a review to decide the continuation of the FGLS (a competitive basis); and
  • Submit the annual progress report to extend the FGLS (deadline in August every year).

All FGLS holders will receive a Letter of Award mention the duration of the FGLS per year. Thus, you should submit the extension of your scholarship annually. The university will review all the annual progress report and GPA per semester. When all requirements are fulfilled, you will continue your scholarship for maximum 3 years for the diploma program, 4 years for the bachelor program and 2 year for the master program.

Information of the estimated living cost in Indonesia (NOT covered by the scholarship):

E-visa application 150 USD + 200,000 IDR
Stay permit per year 2,500,000 IDR
Accommodation* per month 600,000 – 2,000,000 IDR
Meals per month 2,500,000 IDR
Internet per month 250,000 IDR
Photocopying, printing, stationery, textbooks per semester 500,000 IDR
Laundry per month 100,000 IDR

*depending on the facilities, with an assumption that the location of the accommodation is close to campus area (walking distance)

The FGLS 2022 is awarded to eligible high school graduates of countries other than Indonesia. The general requirements to be eligible when you:

  1. Are secondary school/senior high school education graduates;
  2. Have achieved excellent results of the study; and
  3. Are not holders of any other scholarships or grants from UII.

Meeting the minimum entry requirements means you can apply to UII, but it does not guarantee selection. You need to apply online at admisi.uii.ac.id, fill out the form of each step.

The requirements to be prepared before starting the online application are:

  1. Certified copies of your graduation certificate and academic transcript (if the language is other than English, please kindly provide the translation documents with an official stamp from the translator office);
  2. The color scan of the first (photo) page of your passport;
  3. Letter of good health (optional)*;
  4. Current curriculum vitae/resume;
  5. Statement of purpose;
  6. Language proficiency certificate (English/Indonesian Language)**;
  7. Declaration stating that you will not work on your study visa and you will obey the Indonesian law*; and
  8. Passport-sized photos with a red background.

If your application is successful, you will receive:

  • A letter of admission
  • A study agreement

You have to fill out the study agreement and sign it, which means you accept all terms and conditions and regulations at UII. After completing the agreement, please kindly submit it to admisi.uii.ac.id using your NIU account.

After the document is verified, you will get a notification to finalize your enrolment at UII. After completed data are submitted, you will receive a digital student card.

KNB Scholarships at Universitas Islam Indonesia

Scholarships Information

The Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB) Scholarship is financial assistance offered by the Indonesian Government to International students coming from developing countries to pursue their master’s and doctorate degrees in Indonesian Universities.

KNB offers an experience of studying in top universities in Indonesia and at the same time living in one of the world’s most diverse and vibrant societies. By getting the scholarship, students will experience quality postgraduate programs managed by 23 prominent universities in Indonesia, including Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII). The KNB program objectives are as follows:

  1. To contribute to the human resource development in the developing countries.
  2. To promote deeper cultural understanding among developing countries.
  3. To strengthen the relationship and cooperation among developing countries.

UII Excellent Community

UII students who are scholarship recipients are specially assisted by the University through UII DPK programs. DPK UII has formed a special unit or community called the  UII Excellent Community which consists of all students who are recipients of the Bidik Misi Scholarship, UII Superior Scholarship, and Hafidz/Hafizah Scholarship.

Programs for the UII Excellent Community are carefully designed and supervised by the Personality and Welfare Division of DPK UII, in collaboration with the UII Centre for Applied Technology, with hopes that students who are recipients of these scholarships are truly capable of becoming excellent individuals and are actively contributing in activities in and off campus.
