Strategic Plan of UII

Period 2022-2026

This strategic plan was devised with the following things in mind:

  1. Vision, mission, objectives, and primary tasks of UII as outlined in Statute of 2017.
  2. Strategic Direction 2018-2022 PYBW UII. This document directs development focus of UII toward international reputation built upon competitive excellence (innovation), quality management, and organizational values, supported by four capabilities of the institution: leadership, resources/capital, content, and process/system.
  3. Development Master Plan of Universitas Islam Indonesia 2008-2038. With regards to its preparation, we see our Strategic Plan as a document that needs reviewing to get updated and adjusted for relevance to trends and implementation of achieved development in past periods and recent progress in education, industry, and general community.
  4. UII’s recent progress in Rectorate period of 2014-2018 and the result of Accreditation of Higher Education Institution (AIPT) of 2017. An organization is basically path-dependent, bound to its previous condition. The result of the SWOT analysis above captures this condition. In this context, the principle of almuhafadhotu ala alqodim ashshalih, wa alahdzu bi( المحافظة عÑ القد|م الصالح والأخذ wالجد|د الأصلح لأصلح aljadidi alashlah), this strategic plan preserves those which poses virtues from the previous period and introduces new, better ones. Some recent conditions of UII are illustrated in this strategic plan.
  5. The change-promoting trends discussed in brief above are: (A) digital technology, (b) democratization of knowledge and access, (c) global mobility, (d) collaboration with industries and the community, (e) more intense competition, and (f) diminishing values in community.
  6. Reflection upon fundamental values of the founding of UII are (a) integration of science and religion, (b) diversity of Islamic view, (c) nationality, and (d) internationalization.
  • Strategic Objective 1: Strengthening Values

    Strengthening fundamental Islamic values and development of internal capacity

    This core idea of strengthening fundamental Islamic values and development of internal capacity is the First Strategic Objective acting as a capstone to the three strategic objectives with the support from primary programs as outlined in the following points. Not only is it an effort to strengthen institutional resilience, this strategic objective also stimulates a systemic improvement to eliminate any remaining shortcomings. The three strategic objectives shall be measurable with the four primary standards of the MERCY OF GOD, namely the Standard of Management of Organization and Human Resources, Education, Research, Community Services, Yield of Services, Facilities, Governance, and Dawa Islamiya.

  • Strategic Objective 2: Driving Innovation

    Driving continuous innovation to build international recognition

    The core idea of driving continuous innovation is expected to expand the role of UII both in the national and international scale and to increase the dominance of UII in the academic community at national and international levels. This strategic objective is an accelerative and innovative effort for the whole sector. It channels potentials and opportunities to deliver a systemic impact for the institution. It is the Second Strategic Objective acting as a capstone to the two strategic objectives and with the support from primary programs as outlined in the following points. The two strategic objectives shall be measurable with the five primary standards of the MERCY OF GOD, namely the Standard of Management of Organization and Human Resources, Education, Research, Community Services, Output, Governance, Outcome & Cooperation, and Dawa Islamiya.

  • Strategic Objective 3: Flourishing Benefit

    Flourishing benefit through expansion of network reach and intensification of effect

    The core idea of flourishing benefit through expansion of network reach and intensification of effect is expected to establish the role of UII in interpreting the vision and mission to become rahmatan lil’alamin (mercy for the universe). The keywords in this strategic objective are expansion and intensification of effect. This effort channels and facilitates the whole aspect and thus allows the institution to become more meaningful toward national and international stakeholders. It is the Third Strategic Objective acting as a capstone to the two strategic objectives and with the support from primary programs as outlined in the following points. The two strategic objectives shall be measurable with the five primary standards of the MERCY OF GOD, namely the Standard of Education, Research, Community Services, Output, Governance, Outcome & Cooperation, and Dawa Islamiyah.
