UII Improving Islamic Boarding School Facilities

The new building of Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) UII, located at Dabag village, Condongcatur, Depok has been inaugurated by UII Rector, Prof. Dr. Edy Suandi Hamid, M.Ec on Monday (6/25). The new building stood at 135 m2, which will be designed as administrative room, library and large classroom.

Prof. Edy said that the purpose of establishing Islamic Boarding School that was built in 1996, was to recruit and educate intensively excellent student. Moreover, the full tuition scholarship and free dormitory are provided to them. After graduating from UII, they have to work voluntarily for a year at UII.

"However, they are allowed to work doing community service in the society as the embodiment of dakwah activity.” Rector emphasized

According to him, the alumnae of UII Islamic boarding school have excellent knowledge and successfully obtain overseas scholarship including from Japan, Australia, Malaysia, England, and U.S. Hence, UII provided better infrastructural facilities.

Prof. Edy officially inaugurated the new building of Islamic boarding school UII by symbolically giving the key to Wili Ashadi, SHI., staff of Islamic boarding school. Also in attendance were UII Vice Rector I Nandang Sutrisno, SH, MH, LLM, Ph.D, Vice Rector II Dra. Neni Meidawati, MSi. Ak., Vice Rector III, Ir. Bachnas, MSc, Director DPPAI, dr. Agus Taufiqurrahman, Kes., Sp.S., Director of DPBMKM, Drs. H. AF. Djunaidi, M.Ag. and staff of Land and Building Inventory Office (KPTBI).
