This meeting was the extended follow-up program from UII team to propose Prof. Abdul Kahar Mudakkir and Ki Bagus Hadikusumo as a national hero. In his opportunity, UII Rector mentioned that UII team ‘proposing Prof. Abdul Kahar Mudzakkir and Ki Bagus Hadikusumo and National Hero’ has carried out several attempt to meet formality as required in the Act No. 20/2009 regarding to the title, signs services and signs of honors. “Our team has been coordinating with government officials such as department of social affairs rgarding this matter.” Prof. Edy uttered KH. Abdul Kahar Mudzakkir deserve title of National Hero. Prof. KH. Abdul Kahar Mudzakkir has established Badan Penyelidik Usaha-Usaha Persiapan Kemerdekaan. Prof. KH. Abdul Kahar Mudzakkir as the representation from Islamic leader played political role in proclaiming Indonesia’s Indonesia. There are many of national figures from Yogyakarta who deserve a title of National Hero. It is extraordinary matter since many of national movement emerged in this city take for example Yogyakarta became the capital of Republic of Indonesia when Indonesia struggled against Dutch military aggression. This statement was uttered by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X, Governor of Yogyakarta Special Region, when welcomes UII Rector, Prof. Dr. H. Edy Suandi Hamid, M.Ec., along with Dr. H.C. A.M.
